Yes, some of my old fav raw have lost me as a fan because of their newest must-have supplement or piece of equipment of the week (no names mentioned). I woke up to the fact that we spend all our money on their products and they are able to live their dream in their tropical paradise because of it. We need to save our money by just eating fresh and then maybe we can join them in whatever our dream paradise may be!

I have one of these which I have now modified. I was miffed there was decent suction and a fancy display which they only used for fume extraction. a hobbyist and spend little time soldering. over 60 so not worried about solder resin fumes been around all my working life – and I smoke.
First I bought the B1002A desolder gun. 24 volts same as the iron , but a few more watts compared to the iron (but the 968 has a decent size transformer). Same K type thermocouple sensor.
The desolder gun comes with an 8 pole connector, irons are 5 pole. Both stock range at Maplin. Transformer probably run the iron and desolder gun together so I decided to replace their front panel connector with a Maplin 8 pole and change plug on the iron. 2 extra poles on the connector are needed for the vac. pump on/off switch.
Pin connections for oem 5 way are: Pin 1 Blue and PIn 2 Green element. Pin 3 case ground, Pin 4 Red and Pin 5 black are the thermocouple.
Pin connections for the desolder gun 8 pole are Pin 1 red and pin 2 Grey+yell element. Pin 3 blue and pin 5 black normally open vac switch. Pin 4 case ground. Pin 6 green and pin 7 white thermocouple. Wire colors may vary, but this is the info to transpose their 5 pole to 8 pole connectors.
Remove the pot nut and desolder the front panel connector to pull the board away. Solder 25mm colored wires to each used pin of the new 8 pole connector. Match the element, thermocouple and ground to their pcb. The board copper is very poor so clean and tin to the track if the hole pads break. Trace where the 2 brown wires connected to the smoke absorber switch solder to the display board and tack on wires connected to pins 3 and 5 (vac trigger switch). Note you will lose the led function, but you can hear the pump! Replace the front panel board with a couple of M10 washers to increase spacing between the board and 8 pole connector wires.
I cut some thin stainless sheet to make a rest for the desolder gun on the right of the case. I cut 20mm of their fume extractor hose, to make an for the thinner B1002A hose so it fits the front vac connector.
In use you have to choose to plug in the iron or desolder gun. No sweat as these both are very fast warm up. Changeover switches or relays could get problematic as the thermocouple resistances are about one ohm. The airflow through the hot air gun drops back some (but still useable) if the desolder gun hose is left connected. Just pull off the hose if you want more air through the heat gun.
This is what they should have produced for the original design – Hot air, soldering iron and desolder gun in one work station. But happy now got even better value for money!

Yeah Gemfit, I definitely agree that it should also fuel the soul – but I think the message conveyed to the general public, you know? It seems like in small pockets of the health and fitness blogosphere, and in groups of “healthy living” advocates you see that, but the average person looking for weight loss info is NOT greeted with that POV at all. greeted by the “restrict” mentality. And then a lot of us have a really hard time overcoming that – we learned what we were “supposed” to do so thoroughly, and now we have to UNlearn that, plus re-learn that what we knew innately all along was better. Argh.

I read a lot of stuff about letting go of our attachments to food, and while I think that to let UNHEALTHY attachments go, not convinced that ALL attachment to food is inherently unhealthy. Some of it is, but I think that all of it is. Does that make sense?
T, really to think that the “taking time to care for our bodies/selves” has a lot to do with people talking about how they had to love themselves as they were before they could successfully lose weight and keep it off. (And I have to admit that I also believe that some people lose weight by taking better care of themselves, but I also think that if the drive to take better care of ourselves eventually comes from a place of pursuing health instead of thinness, then the weight matter.) And YES to the “food is fuel” There are people who have little or no emotional attachment to food, and I think bad either, but I think that HAVING an emotional attachment to food is inherently bad. Obviously anything taken to an extreme can be unhealthy, but I have a hard time believing that if roast chicken and asparagus calms me down on a Sunday, that a bad thing. *sigh* rambling again.

Adrian, you are correct regarding fuel hedging costs in tonnes. One metric ton is approximately 1010 litres so assuming a cost of Jet A1 [kerosene] of $1000 per tonne that is $.99/litre. The cost of the fuel burned on your LIAT flight would have been around $500.00 US.
I was referring to the measuring and metering of fuel boarded on the aircraft from the tanker. The fuel figures that the pilots receive for weight and balance, and billing purposes is always in either litres or US gallons in the Caribbean, litres in Canada and the rest of the world, including the UK.
But you are correct, and my apologies, hedging amounts are in either US$ per metric ton, which always translates to X$/barrel.
You are also correct, I used to be a captain with Air Canada but am now happily retired and “home” in Bimshire.

I do think of food as fuel but not in the way that you think. fuel but I need to feed my body good, nourishing fuel. Frozen meals are not nourishing. They are full of preservatives and sodium and whatever else. A good roast dinner? fuel for the body and soul. And the kind of fuel I go for. Yesterday I made a massive pot of Veggie, Bean and Barley soup from scratch. Good, nourishing fuel for 3 meals!
And get me on those diet books!
In the XD through XF Falcon cars in Australia had capacitive fuel senders. The sensor was a bare copper PCB in the fuel with two tracks the length of the PCB and an epoxy coated chip at the top that the fuel capacitance into a voltage between 0 and 4.5V to sent to the cross-coil gauge. The whole thing was then in a steel tube with a small hole in the end to damp the sloshing of the fuel.
The only problem with them came when the fuel got contaminates like water in it which out the electrodes.
You need oxygen and fuel to burn. In a fuel tank there any oxygen, its all pushed out by the fuel vapor. Most cars have fuel pumps with submerged, brushed motors.

I did not bike there…..excuses, excuses…..just back from vacation and faced still having studded tires on main steed, reluctant to change them on a work morning with no stand pump available due to other circumstances, and then blew out the inside of a presta valve on the backup bike while filling the tires with a little hand pump. Figured at that point it was a sign that this lovely spring day would not include a bike commute. Stopped for a new floor pump on the way in that will become the HGA bike room pump after I change out the studs tonight. Excuses, excuses.

Something else done with mine:
Mine has the fume sucker which not that bothered about for occasional hobby work. But what I do appreciate is a decent vacuum sucker. I bought the B1002A suction iron (nicely made) and replaced the iron connectors on my station front panel and on the irons I use for 8 way versions. The suction iron needs the on/ off switch wired to the vac pump.
Even though this iron is over 20 watts, it works fine and the temperature control is ok. At the moment I just unplug the soldering iron from its single socket to use the suction iron, but I may add a second socket on the front panel with a changeover power relay. I modified one of the vacuum bits to take a very fine 0.5mm bore brass tube. That pushes the vac. pump near to its limit, but it works fine for sucking around I attached a 40mm dia. made from perforated stainless sheet to the right side of the 968.
If I wanted another workstation, I would definitely look at something with two separate iron sockets and temperature controllers, to use the second for an on' desoldering iron. But for the money, what I now have comes pretty close and the warm up time is only about 45 seconds after switching over irons.

for me what i do is i pump up agi dex and vit i always put 10 more agi than dex and vit then pump up regen first then i put 1 quicken then pump up sword mastery. then when im done i pump up quicken next then lastly the counter attack. just give it a try and you will see. if you dont want to pump up dex try to pump up luk it will be pretty nasty for the enemy xD
